Regional In-Person Tour (费耶特维尔, AR)
This event will offer a unique behind the scenes look at two cutting-edge mass timber buildings on the University of Arkansas campus.
The Anthony Timberlands Center for Design and Materials Innovation is a new research center at the University’s Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design that will house studies on timber technologies. Designers of the four-story, 36,746-sf building utilized cross-laminated timber (CLT) and 胶合—made from Austrian Red Spruce and Southern Yellow Pine—to create a fully wood-structured building.
The Institute for Integrative & Innovative Research (I3R) Building is an advanced technology laboratory that aims to improve human health, 食物, 能源, and water infrastructures. Designers of the three-story, 144,000-sf building utilized a hybrid approach that combines CLT, 胶合, 和钢铁.
Attendees will tour both buildings with project team members who will 分享 their strategies for designing successful, code-compliant mass timber projects, including insight into design, 详细说明, and construction techniques. The tour format encourages questions and discussion, and attendees can expect to leave with insights on the project’s design, 执行, and factors influencing material and detail selection.
